Summer Solstice


I hope you get a moment today to soak in the sun, wiggle your toes into the grass and celebrate the magical cycles of life.



The next few days are the perfect time to reflect on the past 6 months and set intentions for the rest of the year. For busy mothers, it can sometimes feel a real challenge to find the time or energy for that - so here's a very simple ritual which can be done while feeding the baby, having a cuppa etc.. you might find it helpful to have a notebook handy to journal your thoughts.


🌻Take a few deep breaths to centre yourself, in through the nose and out through the mouth. Breathing in calm and breathing out tension.



🌻Ground yourself by feeling into your connection with the earth, so if you have your feet on the floor for example, imagine your feet are anchoring and rooting you to the earth.



🌻Affirm to yourself "I welcome the light of the summer solstice, May this flame ignite my inner fire and illuminate my path".



🌻As you begin to feel more grounded, think back on the past 6 months, what are you grateful for and proud of? What are you ready to release - perhaps old habits, negative thoughts or past events.



🌻 Take a few more deep breaths here and as you breath out, imagine you are breathing out and letting go of those things you want to release.



🌻As you look forward to the rest of the year, what are your intentions? What do you hope to achieve, what would you like the next 6 months to look like?



🌻Sit quietly for a few moments and absorb the energy of your intentions.



FINALLY.... if you have managed all this without a distraction then you deserve a giant cuppa!
